My wife asked me to get her a Dyson since she heard it supposed to be superior to other vacuums. We have a top of the line Miele (S5281 Callisto Galaxy) which is a very good performer. I have a husky that sheds like crazy and two cats, minor shedders.
Anyways, I bought a Dyson DC14 from Costco.
Immediately after thoroughly vacuuming the living areas with the Miele I vacuumed with the Dyson.

While reading about (ha haw) John Edwards, I stumbled upon Time's Top Ten of Everything...
Now I thought I was up to date on some stuff, but I obviously live in a cave somewhere...

Does anyone know what's involved in purging the gas lines? Reportedly that's what exploded. What gas do they use in the blowdown. I assume they are clearing natural gas from the line. What is the replacement "blowdown" gas? Obviously if air is used then at some point there will be an explosive mixture.
I've searched various news and google sources but can't find the information. It's sort of basic stuff to a mechanical engineer in that field though.
